Usually people like to see the face behind the words…so there you go. My name is Chrissy. I’m a 21 year old Leo who lives in Michigan. I was born on August 19th. I’ve been in college since 2004 so I guess that makes me a Senior but I don’t plan on graduating anytime in the near future. I’m majoring in English and minoring in Screen Arts and Cultures. Hopefully I’ll have my CDL soon and I’ll be a commercial driver.

For a while I’ve been going with the flow. I choose not to define myself because labels are for clothes. I’m a thrill seeker. I try to live everyday to the fullest because I know tomorrow isn’t promised. People often call me crazy and I don’t deny it. I’ve been around for two decades and I’ve already learned so much. One of the things I stand by is “dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.” (Mark Twain) Of course it’s hard to do all of those things all the time, but if we let our guard down just a little we might stumble upon something greater than anything we could have ever imagined.

I’m a family person. They can annoy me and make me mad but at the end of the day I know that I love them and I’ll always be there for them. Sometimes this quality is abused. I’m starting to stand up for myself and it has made my life better. I have two siblings that I love to pieces. It’s hard trying to be a role model because every move I make is watched. How can you give someone advice when you aren’t even living your life the right way? I’m not a party girl, I don’t do drugs, I’m not an alcoholic and I don’t smoke. It feels like I’m living against the odds. We see more people doing wrong than right. I’m trying to be an example for today’s youth.

Besides going to school and being online I also love to cook. I only eat Chicken & Tuna. I can’t say I never eat red meat but I can say you will never see me buy red meat unless I’m at Taco Bell or McDonalds…but is that even meat? I declared myself a Chickatarian the day I stepped foot out of my parents house and I think I’m doing a pretty good job. I don’t like fried food–with the exception of French Fries and I recently gave up pop. With a diet like this you’d think I’d be skinny….

Relationship status? That seems to be a question that is asked of everyone. On every networking site they have a place for you to fill out your current relationship status. I’ll leave it at…it’s complicated but I’m definitely in love.

Writing is something that I love to do. I can sit down and write for hours at a time. I like finishing my projects in one sitting because if I don’t they probably wont get finished. I think I’m a good writer. I know there are things that I need to work on, but overall I’m pretty good. I didn’t realize this until my freshman year of college. One day I hope to publish a book of poetry…that’s one of the things that I want to accomplish.

I’m not in any clubs in school. I participate in events when I have the time but until now I’ve held a full-time job while being a full-time student so that doesn’t leave me with much time to do anything. I would like to join the environmentalist group, big brothers & sisters group and possibly become a mentor for an incoming freshman. I’ve also considered doing Teach for America after graduating but I’m not exactly sure how that would work. I would also like to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country.

I love listening to Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Tamia, Jill Scott, India.Arie, Corinne Bailey Rae and Leona Lewis. I’m into mellow music. When I’m not listening to music I try to squeeze a little tube time in. I’m not a big television fan but I do love American Idol. The. Best. Show. EVER! I’m probably the biggest idol fan. I check AI.com at least once a week during off season, and it is my homepage during the season. I don’t miss an episode, and I keep them all on my Tivo until my Tivo forces me to delete them. I also enjoy watching ANTM, Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives and A Shot At Love.

Since I’ve been working at a video store I’ve probably seen over a thousand movies. I know there have been A LOT of bad ones. My favorite movies are the Princess Diaries, Save the Last Dance, Love and Basketball, Pretty Woman, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Roger & Hammersteins Cinderella (Whitney Houston & Brandy), Brown Sugar and Something New.
