I Need To Stop…
Posted on August 11th, 2008 @ 12:04 am

I’m big on saving money but the other day I got depressed…I mean really depressed and I was in the mall. So I did some spending. I guess when you think about how much I’ve spent in the last few months it wasn’t a lot. I reactivated my Game Stop card and bought 2 games. The card is $15 but you save 10-30% on games. I also purchased 2 games for the Wii. I will be taking one back. Bust A Move was $17.99 and Dream Pinball was $24.99. I don’t like the pinball game so that is going back. Bust A Move isn’t too great either, but eh. I haven’t decided if I’m going to take that back yet. Bust A Move is $30 on Amazon so I guess that’s a deal. I’ll have to play it a little more to see if I really want to keep it. I do want a pinball game so I might be trading in the one I have for the other one that they have. It’s 17.99 so at least I’ll be saving some money. Decisions, decisions…

They also had a dancing with the stars game. That seemed cool. Elebits, but I don’t know much about that one either. I have a feeling that I’ll be buying a lot of games since I’ll be working right next to game stop. What a shame…

Why Not Save Money?
Posted on August 10th, 2008 @ 11:51 pm

I feel like once you get a new place you start looking for new things. One day I want to get an HDTV and a stereo system. I know that I cannot afford that now. I feel like I can’t even afford to look or dream about one, but one day that will be a reality. When that day comes I will be looking at all of the discount electronics because I love saving money! Nothing makes me happier than getting something I’ve always wanted except saving money on that little something. Some people call it being cheap, I call it saving money for other things that I need!

Starbucks Coffee
Posted on August 10th, 2008 @ 11:39 pm

When you think of coffee, you think of Starbucks. There are Starbucks locations EVERYWHERE in this city. There are 3 within walking distance from my apartment and 6 less than 10 minutes away if you are driving. That’s insane! I’m not a coffee fan, myself but I do love hot chocolate. Whenever I hang out at coffee shops I either order hot chocolate or strawberries and creme. If you’re a fan of Starbucks coffee but you aren’t lucky enough to be surrounded by them like I am then maybe you should consider ordering it online. You’ll be able to enjoy gourmet coffee right from your very own coffee pot!

Lighting Fixtures
Posted on August 10th, 2008 @ 11:34 pm

Since I’m in my new place I’m trying to find nice lighting fixtures that’ll keep my apartment well lit. I know around here the apartments don’t come with light fixtures. There’s usually a wall light in the hallway, the dining area, the kitchen, the bathroom and the closet. Outside of that you need to get your own lights for your bedroom and living room. I want something that looks nice and is energy efficient.

Mid-August…Already?
Posted on August 10th, 2008 @ 11:34 pm

I’ve almost been in here for a month. The 19th marks a month of me living in my own place. The 19th also marks my 22nd birthday. Time is flying by FAST! I’ve been so busy looking for jobs as well as setting up house. It’s nice having my own place just because. It does get lonely but you are able to do whatever you want to do because it’s yours. I don’t know about you, but I like having my own things.

Gear for Officers
Posted on July 27th, 2008 @ 10:01 pm

There are a ton of police out there looking for cool police gear that they can wear on and off the job. A popular thing these days seem to be tactical pants. I didn’t know there were so many different type of pants, shirts, shoes, etc that you could buy specially made for police.

Learning New Things
Posted on July 27th, 2008 @ 9:59 pm

Something exciting happened today! I learned how to swim! I know I’m old and I should already know how to swim by now but you’d be surprised by how many people who don’t know how to swim. I mean, I’m no expert but in one day I was able to learn how to float on my own which lead to me being able to swim. I have to thank my sister and mom for teaching me because without them I would still be in the 3-4 feet side of the pool with all the little kids. They said I was a fast learner! I’m glad that I’m at least able to do it and hope to get better in the future. I think the biggest thing about learning how to swim is being able to conquer your fear of drowning. Once I was like I wont drop to the bottom I was OK and I did it! If you can’t tell I’m really excited. I haven’t been comfortable in water since I nearly drowned years ago.

Insurance Policies
Posted on July 27th, 2008 @ 1:13 am

Life insurance is a very important thing. If something happens to you I’m sure you’d want to know that your family will be OK as well as be able to pay for your furneral arrangements. Talking about life insurance is something people don’t like to talk about because people don’t like to talk about death, but let’s face it…you wont be alive forever. You have insurance on your car, home, pets, television so why not insure your life as well? You can start by looking at term life policies and if that isn’t the route you want to take they have whole life, universal life and other options for you to choose from!

Wine Clubs
Posted on July 27th, 2008 @ 1:09 am

I am going to admit that I know nothing about wine. I also know that wine is an acquired taste. I’ve only had a bit of wine in my lifetime so I don’t know if it is something that I would enjoy drinking. Signing up for some of the wine of the month clubs that they have online might be a good idea. I’ll be able to try a new wine every month and catch up on all that I’ve been missing over the years.

Acne Problems
Posted on July 27th, 2008 @ 1:05 am

When I was in high school I felt like I had pimples all over my face. It was hard to get rid of and I really didn’t know what to use. You can buy any type of pimple cream for any type of skin. What’s good about buying things these days is the amount of information that we have at our fingertips so we can research the products and figure out what the results will be before even trying it!
