Randomness At It’s Best…
Posted on November 27th, 2007 @ 8:40 am

I just updated my about me page. I didn’t realize how outdated it was. I even changed the pic. Everything in the first paragraph was wrong! It’s amazing how much can change over the course of a year…

I need to blog on this site more. I blog on my other site all the time. I guess that’s because my other site is a personal site and I have a lot of things to talk about. I’m up early. I only got three hours of sleep in. There’s a lot on my mind right now. Mostly relationship issues. I have class today and I don’t want to go. I’ve missed at least an entire month in my English class. I think I’ve missed about 6 sessions in Spanish. My professor is getting on me now. He wrote on my exam that I had a 93% participation grade but really that isn’t true because I have 4 absences. I was like really? And I missed 2 days the following week, so I’m guessing I’m at 6. I really don’t like school. I’m paying for it myself and I’m still not motivated to get up and go to class.

I need to talk to someone. I don’t think I have one person in my life that wont be biased. If I talk to this person I know what they’ll say. If I talk to that person I know what they’ll say. I don’t know if I’m looking for advice or if I just need someone to listen. I think it’s the latter. It sucks because I could go to the shrink but I have to schedule nearly a month in advance. What type of mess is that?

I’m sitting up here eating tuna salad & crackers. I know it’s 7:30am. I just feel weird. I didn’t want cereal. I feel like I’m starving. I only ate one meal last night so it’s probably due to that. I’m drinking Vanilla Coca-Cola Zero. This is the exact same meal that I ate last night. Coke Zero isn’t that bad. I bought it last week and I thought it was N-A-S-T-Y. I’ve never been a fan of diet pops. I can’t stand aspartame. When I went home my mom bought Diet Coke and regular Coke. Everyone else in my family is OK with drinking diet pops. That started after I left home because I don’t go for that ish. Anyway, the regular Coke was not good. At all. It had a weird after taste and everything. My little sister let me drink some of her diet pop and it was better! I think that has something to do with me all of a sudden liking Vanilla Coke Zero. I hope I can keep this up. I bought 2 boxes of it. I’m trying to drink diet pop not so much for my weight but for my teeth. My dentist was mean to me and basically said I can’t have sugar anymore. I’m trying to follow the rules. I went to a nutritionist and they told me so many times to stop drinking regular pop and I never listened. After one visit to the dentist I’m drinking diet pop. I value my teeth!

This blog turned random really fast. Christmas is in less than a month! The last day of school is in 2 weeks!

Speaking of school…I’m thinking about taking off another semester. I probably wont but I know I want to.

Santa Clause 3
Posted on November 19th, 2007 @ 11:32 pm

I really enjoyed The Santa Clause. My family and I went to see it when it first came out years ago. It was so much fun. I loved it! When the Santa Clause 2 came out we rented in on DVD. I don’t think I actually sat down and looked at it. My father said it wasn’t as good as the original. If you rewind back to last year then you will remember that The Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause was released. Everyone would come into the store and ask for it on DVD. I told them that they shouldn’t expect it until Thanksgiving 2007. They thought I was some insane video store girl that didn’t know anything. Well I am pleased to tell you that a commercial just came on that stated “Own The Santa Clause 3 for the first time on DVD tomorrow, Nov. 20″. YES! I’m so happy that I was right. I’ve worked at a video store for a long time. I’m good at determining DVD release dates. It’s just something that you can pick up after a while.

Dancing With The Stars Semi-Finals
Posted on November 19th, 2007 @ 10:40 pm

I just finished watching the Dancing With The Stars semi-finals. It was great entertainment. I absolute adore Melanie. She’s so cute. She’s a great dancer. I hope she wins the title. She deserves it. She got a 30/30 on both of her dances so her final score was a 60/60. She is tied with Helio with a 60/60. Maria has the lowest score. 56/60. I just want to see Mel B in the finals. I’m usually not home on Monday nights so I just look for the performances on Youtube later on in the day. I always watch Mel B and Sabrina (before she got booted). I haven’t got into DWTS like I’m into American Idol. I’m not sure why that’s the case but it is.

Leona Lewis - Spirit
Posted on November 19th, 2007 @ 7:18 pm

I’m really excited about how great Leona is doing in the UK. I was introduced to Leona last year by my best friend. She watched the UK’s X Factor via Youtube and I got into it also. Leona is naturally an amazing singer. There are also so many talent shows these days that anyone can get a record contract. The thing that’s difficult is coming out with a CD worth buying. Leona definitely has that. Her CD is ear friendly. Her voice is magical. Her lyrics are true. She pulls you in and just makes you want to listen to her. Which is why I am happy to hear that ‘X Factor’ winner Leona Lewis has set a new British record for the fasting-selling debut album peaking at Number1 in the UK today [Sunday 18th November 2007]. The singer’s ‘Spirit’ clocked up 375,000 sales last week - beating Arctic Monkeys by 12,000 sales - they set the previous best in 2006 with ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’. The album is now the fourth-fastest selling record of all time in Britain, behind Oasis’ ‘Be Here Now’, Coldplay’s ‘X&Y’ and Dido’s ‘Life For Rent’.

You go girl! I can’t wait until her album is released in the US. I’m sure it will do great here as well.

Lisa Lavie
Posted on October 8th, 2007 @ 11:47 am

One of my favorite things to do is log onto Youtube and watch videos. Especially videos of unsigned talent. If you’ve ever been on Youtube I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of wannabe singers. Many bad, some good. It’s the entertainment of today. Lately I’ve been logging in and watching Lisa Lavie. She’s pretty popular on Youtube/Myspace. If you haven’t checked her out you should. I think she’s really good. I like her original songs. She reminds me of Joss Stone. I’m going to show you a video she posted of her singing Everything is Everything by Lauryn Hill. I hope you like it!

Save Money On Books
Posted on September 5th, 2007 @ 1:15 am

It’s that time of year again. I know many people spend a fortune on books because they don’t know better or they are lazy. What I like to do is look at my syllabus ahead of time (usually your professors will email it to you) or go to your school bookstore and see what books you need for that class. Then go online and purchase them. Most of the time ebay, half and amazon all have better prices than the bookstore because the bookstore has to make some type of profit. Stop letting them eat out of your pocket. Another great way is to talk to your friends and see if they already took the class or know someone who has. That will also save you a lot of $$$. Don’t be afraid to buy used books. You wont use that book for more than 4 months so why pay $100+ for it?

Virginia Tech
Posted on April 20th, 2007 @ 12:08 pm

I know I haven’t blogged about this topic because I’m not quite sure what to say. My heart goes out to the families of everyone at Virginia Tech especially those families that were affected because of the lives that were lost. I sit here thinking that could happen to any of us. I don’t know why he did it, and who would expect something like this? I’m in college and my school is pretty cutthroat and I’m sure we all feel like we are going insane at one time or another but to go to such an extreme. I don’t know how to respond to that. That could have happened on any college campus in the world. I just pray that we all learn from this and nothing like this will ever happen again. It’s scary because there is no way to stop things like this from happening. I hate hearing about things like this because I think that it gives others ideas. You know, if they can get away with it…why can’t I? Every time I hear about the Senior that was a triple major from VT I feel so bad. He put himself through all that to graduate, and right at the end he didn’t make it. We live in a sick, sick world. What’s scarier is I can do a facebook search on him and he’s still there. I don’t know. But my heart truly goes out to everyone.

AI: Idol Gives Back
Posted on April 19th, 2007 @ 11:32 pm

I’m so glad to hear that American Idol is doing something for children in need. It’s a really great program, and it makes my heart smile. It’s also great to see how many companies are jumping aboard by donating money to a great cause. I think we often get caught up in the glitz and glamor of American Idol that we don’t realize that this is a step in the right direction. Celebrities are gathering together for two very special nights. American Idol is the most watched show, so why not make it a concert-esque event. I can’t wait to see what they have in store.

Don’t forget to vote! I know a lot of people thing “my vote doesn’t matter”, but tonight it really does matter. For each vote that is cast sponsors are going to make a donation to charity. Some of us not be financially stable to help out, so just call a few times. Show your support!

For more information please visit AmericanIdol.com/IdolGivesBack.

Bad Sleeping Patterns?
Posted on April 13th, 2007 @ 4:34 am

I’m know for having the worse sleeping patterns…EVER. Sometimes I may sleep for day on end and other times I just don’t sleep at all. I wish I had a schedule, but I’ve been like this all my life so I don’t know if there is any hope for change. NyQuil really helps me go to sleep, but when I take it I sleep for a long period of time. I need to figure out some new methods. I’m tired of staying up until 5am and then having to go to class/work, or missing class because I’m too tired. There has to be a solution! I will find one…hopefully.

Milkshakes
Posted on April 6th, 2007 @ 12:21 am

I love making milkshakes. They are simple and taste better than the ones that you buy from most resturants. If you’re craving a simple milkshake then try this recipe.

Ingredients:
Vanilla Ice Cream
Milk
Fresh or Frozen Strawberries (Frozen Strawberries tend to be sweeter and are good for shakes)
Malt (optional)
2 Ice Cubes (optional)

Pour about 1/4 cup of milk in a blender (if you don’t like thick milkshakes then you should use 1/2 cup of milk). Place 3 scoops of ice cream in the blender and blend well. Now add the strawberries or any other fruit desired. If you like ice chips in your shake then this is the time to add them. Blend at high speed until you know longer see the ice cubes. Enjoy!
