I really like exterior shutters. I think they add a touch of class to any home. Most people put shutters on their homes for decorations. Meaning they never close them. But you can also close them if you’d like. Your use for them will determine how much time it would take to install them to the outside of your home. If you just want them for the “look” it doesn’t take long to attach it to your home but if you want it to be functional it might take a little longer to install.
This week I’ve been having problems with my high-speed internet. I tried fixing it but nothing seems to work! I need to plug the cord into my computer and stop using wireless in order to set up my new network but when I plug the cord into my computer nothing happens. I should probably get a CAT5e ethernet cable. Maybe that would solve the problem.
This post isn’t going to be about daylight savings time although that did occur a few hours ago. But I must say it is a clever title…but it wasn’t intentional. Anywho…
I’ve been monitor shopping like crazy. I use monitor shopping as one would use window shopping. I get behind my monitor and look at all the things I want…and I even put some of those things in a shopping cart but I don’t check out. I like shopping online. It’s convenient and you save a lot of money. You also get to check out different stores and compare prices and that’s so much easier to do with Firefox tabs than trying to run all over town checking on prices. And yes, I know someone who does that.
I plan on saving up as much money possible over the next few months. I plan on taking a vacation soon so of course I’ll spend money on that but I don’t plan on going crazy with it. I’m trying to save up in order to buy a lot of nice things for my apartment. I’m going to make a registry and hope for the best.
So far it looks like I can get everything I want for a grand total of $300. Looking at my shopping cart that’s a great deal. I say that because I feel like I have everything. Just to give you a rundown…I have a 16 piece dinnerware set, shower curtain & hooks, bath run, shower caddy, knife & utensils set, wok, 2 hampers, butter dish, salt & pepper shakers, 18 piece glassware set, wood chopping board, colander and measuring spoons.
I already have pots & pans, a microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, cocoa maker, George Foreman Grill, all types of baking dishes, deep fryer and a mixer. By me having all of the electric appliances already that’s going to help me out a lot in the long run because I wont have to buy that stuff again. I think the only other thing I need to factor into my budget is paint and other little things I can buy from the DIY store.
The theme for my house is going to be brown. I’m so in love with that color…it’s crazy. I don’t want to do too much to the point where I’m sick of it. I’m trying to decide if I’ll paint the majority of the place brown (bedroom, living room, bathroom) or if I want different colors throughout. I’m sold on having my living room brown. A really light brown. As for the bathroom I’m not entirely sure. I think I have an idea from the site that I’m buying all my stuff from…I hope it works! I know blue goes with brown…but what about purple? I originally wanted a lavender type color but I might have luck with a deeper purple.
I’m rambling…but I can’t wait to do this! I’m definitely going to take before and after pics so stay tuned!!
I plan on having a child one day. I always find it interesting how a parent decides what to buy their child when it comes to clothes, diapers, toys, cribs and food. I know I’ll probably be overprotective with my child because I don’t want it in harms way so I’ll probably do a ton of research on items before buying. But who am I kidding, I do a ton or research on items before I buy them for myself! I was looking at an Emily crib and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It makes me want to climb into it and go to bed! I’ll definitely keep that in mind when I’m shopping for my own child.
No matter where you live you can never be too safe that’s why it’s a good idea to invest in some type of alarm system monitoring. You never know who’s out to get you and if you want to protect the things you spent so much money on that’s the best route to go. Also, when you have different types of alarm systems the rates you pay for your monthly insurance plan tend to decrease because they see that you are putting in extra effort to protect your valuables.
I’ve been looking around for different types of furniture for my new apartment. I’m not sure what type of theme I’m looking for. I thought about getting a Queen sized platform style bed and sitting it in the middle of the living room and having a bar setup with some bar stools. I know, it’s not typical, that’s why I want it! I want it to have an earthy feeling with some browns and greens. I’m an earthy kinda gal!
Fabric Stores Posted on February 14th, 2008 @ 8:04 pm
I’m really into doing arts and crafts when I have time. When I was growing up my grandmother and aunt lived in fabric stores so I was always able to get fabric and other things that I needed to make stuff. It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great way to spend your time. Plus, when you’re done you have something to show off. I was looking at Robert Allen fabrics online and they have some really unique designs. I’ll be sure to keep them in mind when I fell like making something.
I love getting my rest but it’s nearly impossible when you don’t have a comfortable bed. That’s why I want to get a memory foam mattress. The mattresses are so soft and they mold around your body for a perfect fit every time! It sure does beat sleeping on a bed that feels like a rock. Hopefully I’ll be able to get one in the near future. I’m sure when I do I’ll get a good nights rest!
Movie Posters Posted on January 27th, 2008 @ 10:50 am
I worked at a video store for a lot of years so of course I’ve seen so many movie posters come and go. Out of my time being there I only took one poster and that was the Fantastic 4 poster. I really wanted the Happy Feet and Dreamgirls posters but of course those two movies came out when the company went on a movie poster hiatus. The posters at my store were cool because they’re usually taller than I am. But realistically what am I going to do with a poster that big? Stick it up on my wall? Yeah…right! I did find a site with some cool original movie posters. I’m going to check it out and see if they have some of the posters I’ve been dying to get.
When I get my own place I plan on getting a good entertainment system and hopefully an HDTV since that seems to be the thing of the future. Why invest money in a good TV if it’s not HD? I’ll also need to by some HDMI splitters so I can extend my cable signal from the outlet to the television just in case I decide to put my TV in a location away from the outlet.
