Lift Me UpPosted on April 24th, 2008 @ 12:12 pm
One of the installations that I love at my church is the stair lift. We have a lot of senior citizens that go to my church and there was a time that they never wanted to participate in the activities that were held downstairs because they would have to climb the steps and that took a lot out of them. Last time I went home I noticed that everyone was downstairs fellowshipping because of the cool stair lift that they get to ride to get from point A to point B. Even the little kids want to ride it because it looks like so much fun!

Shopping For BeddingPosted on April 24th, 2008 @ 12:09 pm
I try shopping for bedding in the summer time. I know you can find down comforters at cheap prices because department stores try to clear their winter stock to put out springtime bedding. I use comforters all year round so finding them at a cheap price is always a plus for me! Everyone knows that down comforters are the best you can come by. All I need to do now is find something that incorporates the colors purple and brown because currently that is my favorite color scheme.

Vacation HomePosted on April 7th, 2008 @ 12:42 am
I’m all about living in peace. I like the country life and I really wouldn’t mind staying in a secluded area. Currently I’m living in a country part of my city and I love it. It’s quiet, you don’t hear many cars driving through or anything. A train runs on it’s given schedule but I hardly even notice that growing up in a busy city. They have some land for sale Branson that I’d love to check out. It could be my next vacation home!

Storage FurniturePosted on April 6th, 2008 @ 9:17 pm
I can say that I’ve had the pleasure of doing business with StandsAndMounts a few months ago. I heard about this site from my friends site. They have shipping and I absolutely love the product. When I move into my new place I’ll be looking for a tv wall mount so I’ll have to keep this site bookmarked. I also plan on going back to purchase another DVD stand like the one I already purchased from them.

How About Teak Furniture?Posted on March 23rd, 2008 @ 6:03 pm
Getting a patio with my new place is optional so if I get a patio I’m going to need to get some teak furniture. There’s so much shopping that comes along with a new place. Good thing I like shopping. Hopefully if I decide to get a patio I’ll be able to find something that fits my personality.

Investigating The SinksPosted on March 23rd, 2008 @ 5:58 pm
I’m moving into a new place and one of the things I want to check out first is the bathroom sink. We have two sinks in my current place, not including the kitchen sink. One in the bathroom and one in the vanity. I don’t like the one in the vanity so much but that’s the one that gets used the most! It looks like it has a permanent dingy color and when you are trying to wash it you can tell it isn’t as smooth as it should be. I hope I don’t have to deal with this at my next place…but at least it works.

ShuttersPosted on March 16th, 2008 @ 1:00 am
I really like exterior shutters. I think they add a touch of class to any home. Most people put shutters on their homes for decorations. Meaning they never close them. But you can also close them if you’d like. Your use for them will determine how much time it would take to install them to the outside of your home. If you just want them for the “look” it doesn’t take long to attach it to your home but if you want it to be functional it might take a little longer to install.

Stay ConnectedPosted on March 16th, 2008 @ 12:54 am
This week I’ve been having problems with my high-speed internet. I tried fixing it but nothing seems to work! I need to plug the cord into my computer and stop using wireless in order to set up my new network but when I plug the cord into my computer nothing happens. I should probably get a CAT5e ethernet cable. Maybe that would solve the problem.

Time To SavePosted on March 9th, 2008 @ 8:23 am
This post isn’t going to be about daylight savings time although that did occur a few hours ago. But I must say it is a clever title…but it wasn’t intentional. Anywho…
I’ve been monitor shopping like crazy. I use monitor shopping as one would use window shopping. I get behind my monitor and look at all the things I want…and I even put some of those things in a shopping cart but I don’t check out. I like shopping online. It’s convenient and you save a lot of money. You also get to check out different stores and compare prices and that’s so much easier to do with Firefox tabs than trying to run all over town checking on prices. And yes, I know someone who does that.
I plan on saving up as much money possible over the next few months. I plan on taking a vacation soon so of course I’ll spend money on that but I don’t plan on going crazy with it. I’m trying to save up in order to buy a lot of nice things for my apartment. I’m going to make a registry and hope for the best.
So far it looks like I can get everything I want for a grand total of $300. Looking at my shopping cart that’s a great deal. I say that because I feel like I have everything. Just to give you a rundown…I have a 16 piece dinnerware set, shower curtain & hooks, bath run, shower caddy, knife & utensils set, wok, 2 hampers, butter dish, salt & pepper shakers, 18 piece glassware set, wood chopping board, colander and measuring spoons.
I already have pots & pans, a microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, cocoa maker, George Foreman Grill, all types of baking dishes, deep fryer and a mixer. By me having all of the electric appliances already that’s going to help me out a lot in the long run because I wont have to buy that stuff again. I think the only other thing I need to factor into my budget is paint and other little things I can buy from the DIY store.
The theme for my house is going to be brown. I’m so in love with that color…it’s crazy. I don’t want to do too much to the point where I’m sick of it. I’m trying to decide if I’ll paint the majority of the place brown (bedroom, living room, bathroom) or if I want different colors throughout. I’m sold on having my living room brown. A really light brown. As for the bathroom I’m not entirely sure. I think I have an idea from the site that I’m buying all my stuff from…I hope it works! I know blue goes with brown…but what about purple? I originally wanted a lavender type color but I might have luck with a deeper purple.
I’m rambling…but I can’t wait to do this! I’m definitely going to take before and after pics so stay tuned!!

Shopping For BabiesPosted on March 8th, 2008 @ 4:07 pm
I plan on having a child one day. I always find it interesting how a parent decides what to buy their child when it comes to clothes, diapers, toys, cribs and food. I know I’ll probably be overprotective with my child because I don’t want it in harms way so I’ll probably do a ton of research on items before buying. But who am I kidding, I do a ton or research on items before I buy them for myself! I was looking at an Emily crib and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It makes me want to climb into it and go to bed! I’ll definitely keep that in mind when I’m shopping for my own child.
