Starbucks Coffee
Posted on August 10th, 2008 @ 11:39 pm

When you think of coffee, you think of Starbucks. There are Starbucks locations EVERYWHERE in this city. There are 3 within walking distance from my apartment and 6 less than 10 minutes away if you are driving. That’s insane! I’m not a coffee fan, myself but I do love hot chocolate. Whenever I hang out at coffee shops I either order hot chocolate or strawberries and creme. If you’re a fan of Starbucks coffee but you aren’t lucky enough to be surrounded by them like I am then maybe you should consider ordering it online. You’ll be able to enjoy gourmet coffee right from your very own coffee pot!

Wine Clubs
Posted on July 27th, 2008 @ 1:09 am

I am going to admit that I know nothing about wine. I also know that wine is an acquired taste. I’ve only had a bit of wine in my lifetime so I don’t know if it is something that I would enjoy drinking. Signing up for some of the wine of the month clubs that they have online might be a good idea. I’ll be able to try a new wine every month and catch up on all that I’ve been missing over the years.

Healthy Choices
Posted on April 24th, 2008 @ 2:37 pm

I’ve been thinking about trying to get fit for a while now. I know I will not instantly drop to a size 2 and that’s not what I want. I want to be in shape and have a healthy body. I have the type of body that can get very muscular with a lot of exercise so I’m going to try to do everything in moderation so I don’t end up looking like a body builder. I’ve been apartment hunting and I’ve been looking for a place that offers a fitness center so I don’t have to worry about paying for a gym membership and not going. My mom also has these appetite suppressant smoothies that taste really good! I’m thinking about buying the powder to make those. That allows you to skip one meal a day while still feeling full and getting all of your nutrients. The best time for me to drink it would probably be around breakfast since I’ll still be home to make it, but I never eat breakfast anyway so I don’t know if that will even matter.

I Want Cookies
Posted on April 16th, 2008 @ 5:27 am

For the past few weeks I’ve been craving cookies. Not any ole type of cookies but chocolate cookies. Not only that but homemade fresh out of the over chocolate chip cookies with a glass of cold milk. I haven’t had time to bake any cookies because I’ve been really busy with school and whatnot. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that in the coming month. We will see. In place of chocolate chip cookies I bought an apple pie and oreo cookies. As you can see I’m still craving chocolate chip cookies so now I’m starting to think that I should have bought some break-n-bake cookies or something.

Desperate Times
Posted on January 15th, 2008 @ 12:07 am

Call for desperate measures! Sometimes you don’t always have the resources to cook the food you want to eat. When you’re put in that position you try to cook food with the items that you do have. That doesn’t always work. So instead of starving yourself or eating food that you know isn’t prepared the right way why not get some flame grilled chicken from El Pollo Loco? I know grilling chicken isn’t easy so why not leave that job to the experts!

Mini-Wraps
Posted on January 12th, 2008 @ 11:27 pm

I’m preparing some mini-turkey wraps. I have to let them sit in the refrigerator for a while so they can get cold. I’m trying to learn how to cook different party favor foods. I think it’s just something that I should have under my belt. I’ve always wanted to cater. I don’t want it as a day job, I just want it as a seasonal gig. You know, do a wedding or party once every 3 months or something. Nothing that’s too overwhelming. I really hope to learn how to make a wedding cake. I’m going to wait to start experimenting when I have more money and more supplies and somewhere to take the cake after it’s made. I’ll probably start trying to make one layer wedding cakes in the spring. I really enjoy cooking but I have to be in the “mood” to do it. I’m in the mood quite often. It puts me in a happy place. I might post pics of the turkey wraps later on if I remember before I eat them all up. After all is said and done I hope to have at least 30 mini-wraps.

Baking Goodies
Posted on July 24th, 2007 @ 5:13 am

I’m the champion of wasting time. I’ve been online for hours and I did a few blogs but that’s about it. I’ve been looking around for things that I can cook when my siblings get here and I think I’m going to try my hand at making pretzels. Hopefully they’ll be OK and if they’re not then I don’t have to suffer and eat them alone. I also want to make a strawberry cheesecake but I’m going to save that for the fall. There is so much that I want to do but my mind feels cluttered. I need to clean my apartment. I do believe if you are surrounded by junk the more cluttered your mind will be. Maybe because you’re thinking about everything that’s going on around you at the same time? I don’t know.

But yeah, I need to think of some more goodies to bake. I think I’m going to make a cheap/simple dinner such as tuna salad and pasta salad or something of that nature. I really don’t feel like cooking. It’s just too hot for most things. I’ll post pics of my pretzels if I get around to making them. I also took pics of the cinnamon loaf that I made last night.

Milkshakes
Posted on April 6th, 2007 @ 12:21 am

I love making milkshakes. They are simple and taste better than the ones that you buy from most resturants. If you’re craving a simple milkshake then try this recipe.

Ingredients:
Vanilla Ice Cream
Milk
Fresh or Frozen Strawberries (Frozen Strawberries tend to be sweeter and are good for shakes)
Malt (optional)
2 Ice Cubes (optional)

Pour about 1/4 cup of milk in a blender (if you don’t like thick milkshakes then you should use 1/2 cup of milk). Place 3 scoops of ice cream in the blender and blend well. Now add the strawberries or any other fruit desired. If you like ice chips in your shake then this is the time to add them. Blend at high speed until you know longer see the ice cubes. Enjoy!

Homemade Lemonade
Posted on March 27th, 2007 @ 10:57 pm

Lemonade
Who doesn’t like a nice fresh glass of lemonade in the summertime? Exactly…everyone loves lemonade! Here is my quick and easy recipe for a sure winner…

What you need:
6 lemons
1 cup of sugar
1 pitcher
Water
A knife

*After you gather all your materials take all 6 lemons and roll them on the table with your palm to get them soft. Applying pressure with one hand on top of the other while rolling the lemon gets the job done FAST!
*Cut 5 of the lemons in half and squeeze the juice from each halve in the pitcher
*With the 6th lemon cut it into small circular pieces. About 6 or more. Place the pieces in the pitcher with the lemon juice
*Add the cup of sugar and stir.
*Dilute with water until it suits your taste.
