Mariah Take Over Idol!Posted on April 16th, 2008 @ 2:54 am
Tonight Mariah Carey was on American Idol and if you know me you know how excited I was. I got little reminders from people of my past as well as people of the present. It’s so cool when people see Mariah and think of me. I spoke with a friend and he was telling me about how when him and his gf first heard Touch My Body they both laughed and tried to mock my “Mariah scream”. It was kinda funny but at the same time
LOL. People think I’m crazy but I think I only know one other person who understands. Putting Idol and Mariah together has been something I’ve talked about over and over again since season 1 of American Idol. “Wouldn’t it be great if someone would sing Mariah songs?” “Wouldn’t it be great if they did a Mariah theme?” “Wouldn’t it be great if Mariah was a mentor?”. Yes, I took the wouldn’t it be greats up in stages. They didn’t have mentors when the show first started, and now they do. I’m happy because I finally got the question I ask every year multiple times a year answered! MARIAH DID IDOL! I couldn’t believe it when I heard that she was going to be on Idol this year. I’m still in shock.
Now for the bad news…this season sucks! So it wasn’t as interesting as it would have been if she did Idol last year but nonetheless Mariah Carey was on Idol and I tried to enjoy it for what it was worth. The boys did an excellent job. Maybe it’s because they’re boys so you can’t really compare a boys voice to a girls voice but I dunno…
Tomorrow Mariah will be performing Bye Bye and hopefully she does a great job. I love you Mariah!

What’s Going On?Posted on April 8th, 2008 @ 1:53 pm
So what’s been going on? I’ve been keeping up with Idol. Watching it every week. Watching the results shows and all that good stuff. I feel like Idol fell flat on its face this year. Usually there’s something that pulls me in but now I’m only watching it because it’s Idol. There’s not any one person that I’m in love with…and the competition is pretty much in full gear.
This week will be the Idol Gives Back special. I know last year by the time Idol Gives Back rolled around I had my favs. Heck, I had my favs during the audition phase and she ended up winning the whole competition! No one pops for me this year. I’m still waiting for something to happen and hopefully it will. I think the only reason Idol is getting great ratings is because of it’s track record. Everyone expects Idol to be great but this year it’s just not doing anything for me…

Slacking…Posted on March 16th, 2008 @ 8:17 pm
I’m started to slack on blogging again. I guess it comes and goes. I went from blogging every other day to once a week. I have some updates that I should add. I was blogging all the time during the American Idol tryouts and now I haven’t been up to it. I’ve been tired and busy with school. It seems like I have so much do and everything is crashing down on me. I have a Spanish exam every other week starting Tuesday. I’m going to be beat because everything I do from this point on will make or break me.
Well, I’m going to make something for dinner (most like Italian) and then start studying Spanish. I’m dedicating tonight, tomorrow and as much of Tuesday as I can to studying Spanish. Wish me luck!
And as for Idol, I’ll most likely do a mega-Idol post sometime this week. Keep an eye out for that.

AI: Season 7Posted on February 16th, 2008 @ 9:58 pm
I’m ready for the new season of American Idol to begin. As always they said that this season is the best season ever. We’ll see if that really is the truth. I find that hard to believe. They said the same thing last season and some really weak contestants made it into the top 12. So hopefully this season doesn’t disappoint! The first show where America gets to vote is this Tuesday. I’m looking forward to that! I’ll be back with some updates on how the guys (or girls) did on the stage and which contestants are my favorites.

American Idol Rundown - CharlestonPosted on January 23rd, 2008 @ 9:14 pm
So…Charleston surely did bring out the pairs. The couple that met on the Idol message boards was a no-go but the siblings were refreshing and funny.
The “Before He Cheats” segment was actually funny. I seriously had to laugh at I’m gonna skip the rest of this verse and go into the next verse where it goes like…*pulls out paper and proceeds to read the paper* Oh, and the girl who said “I’m gonna take out my bat and bash out all his windows, tear out all his seats and throw them out the window, take my keys and write my name in it and jump up and down and crush the hood like he crushed my heart” in place of Carrie Underwoods lyrics.
Basically the South Carolina auditions were filled with a bunch of delusional people. Not only could they not sing but when Simon called them out on it they proceeded to go off.
At the beginning of the show (day 1) the first guy in line had to leave so his wife could have her baby. At the end of the episode (day 2) they brought the baby with them to the audition. I didn’t know you could be released from the hospital that fast and walking around like nothing happened. She’s a good one. I would be in the hospital or at home resting somewhere.
Overall 23 contestants from Charleston, SC will be going to Hollywood, CA. No one really *stood out* to me in today’s episode. Hopefully they’ll be more talent on the next episode.
Next week Idol returns in Omaha, Nebraska. Things should be interesting because Paula leaves and Ryan judges for a portion of the show. Don’t forget to tune in and come her for the rundown.

American Idol Rundown - San DiegoPosted on January 22nd, 2008 @ 9:20 pm
Now this is my idol! I really enjoyed the show tonight. I feel like the people who made it through tonight were actually good so it made watching the auditions worth while. A few of the bad people were funny too, like the girl who thought she could sing like Mariah Carey. I mean, come on…and that last note! She know she was wrong. And the other lady who sung about 50 different songs thinking it would make her sound better…and her friend. He wasn’t any better. They deserve each other.
I’m keeping an eye on Samantha and Carly for sure. David seems like a sweet kid also so he may last a while. There was this guy at the beginning with a 4 year old cutie so I wanna see how he does as well. 30 people from San Diego made it to Hollywood! The show was only an hour today but it seems like more talent came out in Cali than Philly.
Tomorrow Idol is going to tha dirrty south…South Carolina that is.

American Idol Rundown - DallasPosted on January 17th, 2008 @ 10:27 am
So…tonight wasn’t that good either. There were a few highlights, but not many. I don’t think I like the emotional stories. It seems like they’re laying it on thick. Almost, too thick. Usually when they do those things it’s once we’re down to the final 32 or something. It’s around the time when you want to remember people so you can vote for them. It seems like they’re giving you all these sob stories for these really bad people and you want them to do well, but when they bomb you can’t laugh because you feel bad. If that makes sense. I think that’s the problem with the auditions this season. They said they were going to add more stories so you can know more about the idols, and I agree with them doing that, but I think they should just let the auditions be funny. I prefer the singing part of it and usually the people who love the auditions watch it for just that, and they can’t even get a good laugh out of it!
My favorite audition came from the girl who could impersonate other people. I loved her Britney Spears! I was shocked. Then she came back with the Carrie Underwood. That was nice. And her voice isn’t bad. I think she’ll be interesting to watch, especially when they start covering other peoples songs. She might get lost in the impersonations or something. The dude wearing the all white feather suit with the hat that said “Simon” was crazy. Wow. He wasn’t really bad, I mean, you could sit through his singing. His whole thing was funny but I think they pushed it too much. They were trying to make it funnier than it really was or something. Ooh, and the girl that looked like Carrie Underwood…that was freaky. At first I didn’t see it. I was like what are they talking about? Then she started singing and I was like woooah…
So yeah, nothing that interesting happened. I’m still looking for some stand-out talent. I usually find a few that I like and they’re usually in the finals. Right now I just see the Britney Spears girl. Hopefully the next auditions will be better (or at least funny). They take place in California and they air on Tuesday. Tune in to Fox at 8pm/7pm central to watch!

American Idol Rundown - PhillyPosted on January 16th, 2008 @ 4:12 am
So tonight was the premier of American Idol. I love AI but the episode wasn’t as good as it usually is. They had a few “sob stories” that made me pretty sad. That’s the hardest, you know, to see these people talk about their struggles and to see them not make it on to Hollywood. Or to see the ones that did make it to Hollywood but not win the cake, or get enough airtime to make fame off of their idol success. I don’t really remember anyone from todays show. I remember faces and whatnot but I don’t remember any names. No one really stuck with me. Hopefully tomorrow they’ll be more talent. Usually they show all of the bad people before they get to the good, so hopefully that’s the case. The bad people aren’t even that funny this year. But then again, this is only day one so hopefully tomorrow will be better. Todays auditions took place in Philadelphia and tomorrow Idol is heading out to Dallas.

American Idol 7Posted on January 14th, 2008 @ 12:46 am
Starts tomorrow, Tuesday, January 15th!!! I’m so stoked! You just don’t know. I’ve been counting down and everything. It sorta just crept up on me. So this is very good news. The best news I had all day. So everyone turn to your local Fox station (for those of you in Detroit it’s channel 2!) and watch the premier of American Idol at 8/7c. Well, that is all. I’ll be back with an update of everything that happened and how this season started off, which will probably be with a bunch of bad singing and LOLs.
