I was looking at myself in the mirror at work today and noticed that I need to lose some weight. My tummy is big, my hips are big, my arms are big. Everything is big. Instead of losing weight I’m gaining weight. I think it has something to do with my depression because I haven’t been eating what I should and the way I should…but when you’re sad you don’t really care. I know I ate pie for a week straight and cookies for two weeks prior to the pie. I’m definitely going to have to get on some Lipovox if I keep this up. I don’t have a scale at home but the last time I went to the doctor I was up 10lbs which is a lot for me since I’ve been weighing around the same thing for the last 7 years or so.

I need a break. I would love to get out of Michigan for a few days or a week. Since I work in retail it’s hard planning a vacation because they never want to give you anytime off. I wanted to have some time off around the 16th of January to maybe skip town and visit someone but of course they had a problem with that. If I was in another field I could get paid time off. I don’t even get that there so I don’t see what the problem was. Oh well, it’s whatever. I know I’ll be looking around for some vacation rentals soon because I need to get away…even if it’s just for a weekend.

Let me tell you how hard it is to shop for my brother and father. It is hard! I only knew what to get my dad this year because he asked for it. My brother always wants his magazines so that was easy as well. If it’s something above and beyond that I’m lost. Everything for men is so expensive. I would like to get my dad a nice suit, some pants or even a shirt but I can’t afford that. I would get my brother the same thing. I know they both need dress clothes but the prices on stuff these days is far from cheap. Sports gifts are also great gifts if you know what team and player they are fans of.

I just looked at the date and realized Christmas is in 10 days. Also, today is my grandmother and nephews birthday. Christmas is creeping up on me this year. I’m not in the spirit at all. I’m crazy about Christmas. I love the pretty lights and decorations and the music…and of course what Christmas represents. I don’t know but this year has been different. Maybe because I’m burdened with other things that I just haven’t had time for it. I don’t have up any lights, a tree or anything. I can’t afford a tree but I have some lights that I had in my room last year that I could put in my window but I haven’t gotten around to doing that yet. Maybe next year. I still have a few days to get things up if I changed my mind but who knows if that will really happen.

I’ll be spending Christmas in Detroit with my family. I’m happy about that! This is my first Christmas off in years. I have to work Christmas eve and the day after Christmas which is a bummer but what can you do? I wish I had more free time to spend with my family but I don’t Maybe one day. Hopefully.

I think security systems are needed in every household. I don’t care where you live or how safe you think your neighborhood is someone could always break into your home and steal the things you’ve worked hard for.

on thanksgiving I was watching Home Alone and I saw how easy it was for the thieves to break into homes and steal everything. Criminals watch patterns. Believe it or not they know your work schedule, when you are home, how many people live with you and if your place is protected by a security system. This is their job and they are good at what they do.

It’s better to be safe then sorry. Trust me, I know. My car was stolen and my home was broken into multiple times. There are a ton of home security companies out there so take a look around and find one that can protect you, your family and your belongings. If you don’t know where to start looking then I suggest ADT because they are a good company and have been around for a while.
