I’m always building something or fixing something and you know how it is. Sometimes your things come out a bit imperfect. One of the most recent DoItYourself projects that I got involved in was putting together a desk. It was pretty simple even the instructions were not clear. I did have a problem when it came to putting together the chairs. They didn’t look right. I wasn’t sure if they were safe because the bars kept coming out. Sure enough and soon as I sat down the chair collapsed! Luckily I didn’t fall and hurt myself. I studied the chair for a while and was able to put it together without the fear of it falling apart again.

At the time I didn’t know they had special sites that help you with your own projects. If I would have known that I would have checked out DoItYourself.com to figure out a way to put that chair together because it didn’t look right to me in the first place. They also have DoItYourself DVDs that help you get better results. Remember that knowledge is power and if this is your first time putting together anything then I would suggest that you seek all the help that you can get. I’ve built many things, often without tools and I can tell you that is not the route you want to take.

Hopefully you’ll be able to find help for your next DoItYourself project. I’m going to check to see if they have anything that tells you how to install key in knob lock because that is my next project!

I was reading online today that Oprah is the highest earning personality on television. That makes me feel good. It gives me hope. Oprah makes $260 million and she is worth 1.5 billion. Now I understand why she can afford to give away all that stuff. She’s loaded! Jerry Seinfeld is behind her with grossing $60 million. I was surprised by that. How can he be #2? I thought he quit television when he quit his show. They shouldn’t include him in this list. I guess they wanted to make the numbers seem a little better. But he’s still behind Oprah by $200 million. He has a long way to go before he catches up. Oprah, will you adopt me?

America’s Next Top Model is back…finally! I think I jumped on the band wagon pretty late for that show. I just love reality television and that show is one of my favs. So far I’m lovin’ Lisa and Sash (Saleisha). I cannot stand Bianca. The way she treats Lisa for no apparent reason reminds me of those bullies back in school. Yesterday was the first real cut. That girl, Mila, went home. She wasn’t too great and I was creeped out because she was always happy. She didn’t even really look sad when they told her she had to go home. I guess it’s good to be happy like that all the time, but I remember when Tyra talked to her on the 1st episode and told her it’s good to be sad sometimes too. It makes a good balance in life.

I love my smile. I think I’m blessed with nice teeth. There is always room for improvement but I don’t think it’s necessary to wear braces especially if I can’t afford them but I would love to have my teeth whitened. I always feel like my teeth could be whiter and they could use a cleaning. Once I become one of the rich and famous I will check out Dr. Maddahi’s Beverly Hills family dentistry. He is a Beverly Hills dentist that provides smile makeovers and who wouldn’t love a makeover? There’s nothing that makes a heart melt like a beautiful smile.

I seriously hate when they do this (see pics below). Nikki Blonsky is a very pretty girl. She may not be a size 2 but that doesn’t mean she isn’t beautiful. Everyone with eyes can see that she isn’t skinny but yet they dress her up in this. It’s worse than a Halloween costume. I know you have to listen to your team and let them dress you but I would have told them no if they made me go out in public and make me look like a fool. I’m a full-figured woman and I know some things work and some things do not. You should stay away from the things that make you look bigger than you actually are especially if you know you have some extra meat on those bones. This is a total disaster.

It’s that time of year again. I know many people spend a fortune on books because they don’t know better or they are lazy. What I like to do is look at my syllabus ahead of time (usually your professors will email it to you) or go to your school bookstore and see what books you need for that class. Then go online and purchase them. Most of the time ebay, half and amazon all have better prices than the bookstore because the bookstore has to make some type of profit. Stop letting them eat out of your pocket. Another great way is to talk to your friends and see if they already took the class or know someone who has. That will also save you a lot of $$$. Don’t be afraid to buy used books. You wont use that book for more than 4 months so why pay $100+ for it?

Remember a couple of weeks ago I was telling you about this great site called Cell Fish. It’s for aimed towards anyone who has a cell phone, and with this day and age it seems to be everyone. You can store pictures, ringtones and wallpapers in you locker and you can send them to your phone! It’s a great service and it’s 100% free. By signing up you even get a free premium ringtone which includes most of the popular songs that are heard on todays radio. They also have a ton of other Free Ringtones.

This site is super easy to use and it is straightforward. I uploaded over 30 pics to my locker via my phone in less than 5 minutes. It’s very convenient and I’m glad that I signed up for it. The one thing that annoyed me was the text messages that were received on my phone. I submitted all 30 pics in one email but they sent me 30 individual text messages once they were uploaded to my locker. I found out that you can prevent this from happening by going to My Account and clicking on Messages/Alerts. Once you are there you can select what kind of alerts you want to receive, if any.

Here is one of the pics that I uploaded to my locker via my phone. If I ever want to have this pic on my phone all I have to do is click on Send to Phone and I will be all set.

Everyone knows that I’m a Jordin Sparks FANATIC! I love her. I think she’s beautiful/adorable/sweet/kind. I’m also really happy for her because I picked her before they showed Idol. You know, when they broadcast the commercials. I’m like she should win! I just thought she was cute and had a nice voice. Then when I saw her audition I was still rooting for her. Throughout the show I was rooting for her. Even when she messed up Christina Aguilera’s “Reflection” I was hoping she didn’t get voted off. That’s rare. I usually get mad when people mess up Xtina, but not this time. Today I was disturbed when I saw this:

It looks like she lost weight. A lot of weight. It could be the photo shoot, the camera, the angle or something but she looks skinny! What happened to those curves that she was oh so proud of. I’m a curvacious girl and to see another curvacious woman of color get voted as the American Idol really made me happy in the inside. It gave me hope. Now it looks like she’s been on some type of Nicole Richie diet. I hope this isn’t true. I hope my eyes are playing tricks with me…
