Homemade Lemonade

Lemonade
Who doesn’t like a nice fresh glass of lemonade in the summertime? Exactly…everyone loves lemonade! Here is my quick and easy recipe for a sure winner…

What you need:
6 lemons
1 cup of sugar
1 pitcher
Water
A knife

*After you gather all your materials take all 6 lemons and roll them on the table with your palm to get them soft. Applying pressure with one hand on top of the other while rolling the lemon gets the job done FAST!
*Cut 5 of the lemons in half and squeeze the juice from each halve in the pitcher
*With the 6th lemon cut it into small circular pieces. About 6 or more. Place the pieces in the pitcher with the lemon juice
*Add the cup of sugar and stir.
*Dilute with water until it suits your taste.

Happy Feet!
Posted on March 27th, 2007 @ 5:22 pm

Today is finally here! Happy Feet, the greatest movie of all time has finally been released on DVD. Yes, I own it. Yes, I’ve seen it more than 5 times. Yes…YOU SHOULD GET IT TOO!!! I am not even kidding. This movie made it’s way in my heart. Not only did it enter my heart, but it made it’s way up there with The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas. I Love HAPPY FEET! Mumble is the cutest penguin ever.

It’s a story about a penguin (Mumble) being a misfit and not being accepted among all the other penguins because he can’t sing, but boy can he tap dance. Tap dancing is frowned down upon because they think it’s a dumb talent and he looks like he’s having a seizure. Soon Mumble is forced out of his town and he makes it on his on. After that…the rest is history.

I wont give you anymore details because it will ruin the story. The story is great. The music is great. The message is great. So GET THIS MOVIE!

Happy Feet! Own It Today!

Thrifty Scot
Posted on March 26th, 2007 @ 2:16 pm

If you are a person who spends money all the time then Thrifty Scot might be the site for you. Thrifty Scot is a money saving advice site. They have all kinds of articles about banking, loans, saving plans, and insurance. Many of us have problems with paying our credit cards but we don’t have a problem with spending the money on the credit card. I was reading an article that said if you don’t pay your credit card bills bailiffs have the right to break into your home and seize all of your belongings. Wow. And get this…it’s totally legal.

Thrifty Scot will help you with Debt Management, Bad Credit Remortages, Loans, and Credit Cards.

I think this is a great site for college aged students seeing how most companies make teenagers their target since they probably don’t know a lot about loans and credit cards. In high school I remember being told to NEVER EVER get a credit card but no one ever said why. I was curious and I looked into things and found out a lot on my own. It would have been helpful to come across this site because not only do they give you advice you can find the latest news in the financial world as well as a list of what offers credit card companies are currently giving out.

AI: Top 11/Bad Day Part II
Posted on March 26th, 2007 @ 1:18 am

I started writing this American Idol post DAYS ago and there is still nothing to say. This weeks American Idol was kind of lame. Not only was it music from the 60\’s…it was British music from the 60\’s. I hope they\’re saving the best for last…OR something. Everyone was alright, I guess. I loved. Loved. Loved Jordin. She was great. I don\’t remember any other performances. Haley did pretty good. It\’s an improvement from all the other weeks, that\’s for sure. Sanjaya still sucked but not as much…and Stephanie got booted. Stephanie wasn\’t great, but no one was really great. I don\’t think she deserved to be booted. I still don\’t understand why Sanjaya is standing there. It\’s a mystery to me. Hopefully tomorrow\’s Idol will be great with Jennifer Lopez on there and all. You know, everyone loves Jennifer even if you can\’t stand her she\’s nice to look at.

Wirefly
Posted on March 16th, 2007 @ 12:35 pm

Everyone has a cell phone these days. I think a lot of people prefer cell phones over home phones because you are able to take them with you wherever you go. If you are looking for a cell phone you should go to Wirefly. They have great plans that suit your needs.

Wirefly is a great customer because they find out what you want and then they search through all the plans available from wireless dealers such as Sprint, Cingular, T-Mobile and Verizon to find the best plan for you. This is something that we all should consider because what may work for one person not be great for another. In the end finding the best plan for YOU can save you a lot of money.

Wirefly also has great deals. You can find deals for free phones and headsets when signing up through them. All you have to do at Wirefly.com is enter your zip code and they tell you the plans they have in your area. It doesn’t get easier than that!

Life Without Black People
Posted on March 15th, 2007 @ 3:49 pm

A very humorous and revealing story is told about a group of white people who were fed up with African-Americans, so they joined together and wished themselves away. They passed through a deep dark tunnel and emerged in sort of a twilight zone where there is an America without black people.

At first these white people breathed a sigh of relief. At last, they said, No more crime, drugs, violence and welfare. All of the blacks have gone!

Then suddenly, reality set in. The “NEW AMERICA” is not America at all-only a barren land.

1. There are very few crops that have flourished because the nation was built on a slave-supported system.

2. There are no cities with tall skyscrapers because Alexander Mils, a black man, invented the elevator, and without it, one finds great difficulty reaching higher floors.

3. There are few if any cars because Richard Spikes, a black man, invented the automatic gearshift, Joseph Gambol, also black, invented the Super Charge System for Internal Combustion Engines, and Garrett A. Morgan, a black man, invented the traffic signals.

4. Furthermore, one could not use the rapid transit system because its procurer was the electric trolley, which was invented by another black man, Albert R. Robinson.

5. Even if there were streets on which cars and a rapid transit system could operate, they were cluttered with paper because an African American, Charles Brooks, invented the street sweeper.

6. There were few if any newspapers, magazines and books because John Love invented the pencil sharpener, William Purveys invented the fountain pen, and Lee Barrage invented the Type Writing Machine and W. A. Love invented the Advanced Printing Press. They were all, you guessed it, Black.

7. Even if Americans could write their letters, articles and books, they would not have been transported by mail because William Barry invented the Postmarking and Canceling Machine, William Purveys invented the Hand Stamp
and Philip Downing invented the Letter Drop.

8. The lawns were brown and wilted because Joseph Smith invented the Lawn Sprinkler and John Burr the Lawn Mower.

9. When they entered their homes, they found them to be poorly ventilated and poorly heated. You see, Frederick Jones invented the Air Conditioner and Alice Parker the Heating Furnace. Their homes were also dim. But of course, Lewis Lattimer later invented the electric Lamp, Michael Harvey invented the lantern and Granville T. Woods invented the Automatic Cut off Switch. Their homes were also filthy because Thomas W. Steward invented the Mop & Lloyd P. Ray the Dust Pan.

10. Their children met them at the door-barefooted, shabby, motley and unkempt. But what could one expect? Jan E. Matzelinger invented the Shoe Lasting Machine, Walter Sammons invented the Comb, Sarah Boone invented the Ironing Board and George T. Samon invented the Clothes Dryer.

11. Finally, they were resigned to at least have dinner amidst all of this turmoil. But here again, the food had spoiled because another Black Man, John Standard invented the refrigerator.

Now, isn’t that something? What would this country be like without the contributions of Blacks, as African-Americans?

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “by the time we leave for work, Americans have depended on the inventions from the minds of Blacks.”

Black history includes more than just slavery, Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and Marcus Garvey & W. E. B. Dubois.
