Yep. I said it. If you may notice 9/10 the things that get nominated are still in theaters. What about the other 100 movies that came out at the beginning/middle of the year? I guess they’re shit out of luck. So if you want to get nominated for an Academy Award you better release your movie in December. Yep.

I think I have the right to give this opinion. First of all I work at a video store and out of everything that has been nominated the only things that are on DVD are The Devil Wears Prada, Little Miss Sunshine, Cars, United 93, Black Dahlia, Click, Pirates of the Caribbean, Cars, Monster House, and An Inconvenient Truth. I’m 100% certain. I know my stores inventory and I know release dates. That may seem like a lot, but looking at this list it isn’t. It kinda sucks. I know that the best movies are supposed to be released at the end of the year, but I think they do that so they can get an nod from the Academy Awards. So what about the rest of the people that worked their asses off? This makes me angry! They pick like 5 movies and nominate them for everything, or so it seems.

The same thing happens with the Golden Globes.

At least the Grammy’s are a little bit better about this. I just get angry with who they chose to win and what not. But oh well, such is life.
